Peace begins at Bhutan

I have recently read about Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner.Such an interesting book where the author goes in search of happiness quotient at different countries. One is the land of Gross National happiness,Bhutan.Even I got a chance to pack my bag to Bhutan recently.Though I have read about this country in Eric's book,Bhutan was in my bucket list for long time with so much research.I am excited to share about experience in Druk Airlines, where were able to spot Mt.Everest,Kanchanjanga,Mt.Makalu and many more moutains so close by.The landing is quite tricky as the runway is between two mountains.Thats a great experience to say.
I liked people's self content life with meditation, chanting , prayers .Its so nice to see when a religion has all the power to bring in zero crime rate in a country.97% of the country follows Buddhism. We visited magnificent Buddha Point at Thimphu,a serene place to start with.We have got a Local college goer Tanzin as our one day friend who was happy enough to narrate their country's history. She actually was able to say the reality of a country without much polish.Must visit places are stamp museum,Textile Museum,Memorial chorten,Buddha Point and Thimphu Dzong.Food is spicy enough for Indian tongue. Then comes Paro where we trekked to Tiger's Nest. Its a place of extreme human engineering.Iam astonished by the building more than Guru Rinpoche's lonely meditation at the top of cliff. There is so much to write about Bhutan,so blog wont be a sufficient placeholder. So here goes few pics from our trip.I personally felt Bhutan is a place to find peace but not happiness.Afterall ,Happiness is always a subjective thing to discuss.More than 4 days Its not easy to stay at Bhutan as I have miles to go and things to finish

Ganeshpooja 2016

Festival season has started now.India has lovely celebrations to add happiness to souls sinked in daily routine.I have woken up the happy kid in me to bring in the rituals at my new home.As ganapathi statue was not available in the streets of Noida,we tried to manage with chota ganpath at home.
I tried out fried mothak which is a maharashtian receipe along with moong sundal. There is a happiness quotient when we offer for our neighbors. That's a cool joy of giving.

Parshar lake trek

We were able to finally complete our long waited parshar lake trek at Himachal Pradesh.I should convey my thanks to Indiahikes trek leads as well as trek members who made the trek less difficult one.we started our trek from Bagging village which is at 4000 ft high from Mandi. The ascend was moderate with steep routes in 4-5 spots. It would be better to go with trekkung shoes as it's mandatory in slippery grounds. After 6 hours of trek,we reached the view point at an altitude of 7000 ft.Vow! Such an insane beauty.
As the weather was helping us,we were able to complete the trek without any injury. There comes a hidden history to parshar lake.Parshar rishi ,guru of pandavas while they were in Himalayas for self realization and the son of vyasar meditates here and so the temple. There is an grassy island in the center of lake which keeps moving in the lake through out the year and the depth of lake remains unknown till this date.
We learnt to make tent and we could witness rain followed by stars.
When I asked about trekking experience with trek members each had their own experience to say.As such trek won't give us a cup of joy ,but accomplishment raises our bar to face tough situations in a carefree style.

Here goes few pictures from parshar

Geography of bliss

Been a longtime I sat with a gripping book.I recently got this book recommendation"Geography of bliss" by my friend.I have to say it as a gripping book as it involves factual data, realtime experiences and author's experiment on happiness quotient at different geographical locations of the world.Eric, the author has tried motley colored experiences starting from country of pleasure"Netherlands" to country of misery "Moldova" .This book in short is a research on happiness, but a lovable research fits for every human in the world.I liked the word he coined for each blissful country he visited. Its a not a book which speaks about superficial happiness but touches the depth to it and as a reader we can realise it when he traveled to county of sadness "Moldova".Again happiness is a subjective thing always to talk about.

As a whole it's worth a read.Great job by Eric.

offbeat spots of India -My travel album

Here goes my new hobby of the year, publishing travel album(picture quality might not be stunning).I love to travel hearing stories along the way ,readers might be aware of it as most of my post deals with travel for past 2 years within India. In a way travel has healed me and shown a better person in my eyes.India as a sub continent thrills me with its abundance of diversity in every aspect starting from flora, fauna, people, massive mountains, gushing milky river, hotsprings and the set goes on..Let it be a cliff or a plain land or a sea it has deep history to it from the past.I should thank Google for making me well informed about the places with history in hand. This year 2016 would end up with many more travels within India with beautiful stories and experiences.

Kasol to Kheerganga trek

Recently we have visited  kasol and trekked to kheerganga  at Himachal pradesh.I can say kasol is such a picturesque place with lush green pine forest ,gushing parvati river and happily moving hippies from different parts of the world and yummy Israeli food.Anyone who loves to spend in the cradle of nature ,kasol is one right spot. Here goes few clicks with Parvati river.

The last picture shows the hill of kheerganga which we trekked for 13 Kms one way.Trek is moderate but not easy as we have to trek against the rain. After the trek,as a surprise there appears a hotspring at the top of cliff. This trek is something I enjoyed with pain.Kasol is a place to visit if you are a nature lover.

shimla - on the way

The beautiful pine forest called as green valley at Shimla is one such cool place to visit.I prefer to know about a place through walk. Walk gives us the micro information of a place. We did a evening walk and Iam really fascinated by Indian Institute of Advanced studies which has wonderful british architecture.
Few more pictures from the travel

                                                 Christ church constructed in 1897

Jakhu hill trail-where Hanuman took a short nap while returning from sanjeevanam

few exclamations
In the crowded mall road of Shimla, we went to rare books shop. It has Books written in the period of 1850's but hardly found  people within.
when we went  to Fagu valley at Kufri, there was a walkable path to valley but horse riders have hidden the information  as a business tactic. While returning back we were able to manage the route .
I would say Shimla is a mainstream place to visit. If people hate rush, certainly we shouldn't opt except for pure air and fruits.

If its a history lover,worth a visit

Go,kiss the world

Being in the age of shared economy, stopped buying books instead I have taken a membership  from justbooks and  enjoying the thrill with just books.I read this book Go,kiss the world by subroto Bagichi which is so honest without any whitewash. If you love business and its magic, certainly would enjoy the read.
This book has changed my view towards business  and work.In fact  made me to erase this term "retirement" and rethink on conceptualizing innovative designations with its own roles and responsibilities as like chief Belief officer ,gardener yet many other to make this ecosystem still a better place.
Mr.Bagchi made me feel we can create a service providing industry and still we can read, write, teach and travel without getting detached from the industry.
Just a  solid read

2015 Randomz

I have been so passive without reflecting much in 2015.There were many memories to celebrate and rejoice  in 2015 right from professional to personal life and I have done that in a peaceful way.A year in which I worked for what I want without bothering there is a world which works outside my nest. Moved out of few circles where I couldn't contribute much without any hard feelings. Thanks to my closely knitted family of friends who took enough patience to invest time with me in whatever the way its possible. On other hand, added up 7 kgs to my body mass which I have to burn it down in 2016.Apart from all these, I have to thank my  job and mentors who carved out a beautiful soul out of me.

2016 projection, going to be a year of travel and experience ,as many travel plans are already laid and its going to be year to appreciate more books ,yoga and family.

If I have to pick one resolution for 2016,I have to stop my deep thinking more than needed.
